Do You Know Him?

Christmas time has come again
now will you understand?
You love the baby Jesus,
but do you know the Man?

Do you know the master?
Have you sat down at His feet?
Have you heard Him say I love you?
Has He given you to eat?

Do you know His blood was shed for you,
do you know He truly lives?
Have you tasted of the water
that He freely gives?

Do you know the two commandments
that contain the heart of ten..
Love the lord with all your heart
and truly love all men?

Is it just a passing thought you have
amid your daily care
'Well I try to be a good man,
and I know that God is there'

But when it comes to owning up
in front of other peers
Do you back away from Him
because of worldly fears?

He has a promise for you,
all of you shy away.
Your greatest step is one of faith.
Take that step today.

You'll find no greater love for you
nothing else can make you whole
Do you really know Him?
Do you trust Him with your soul?

We cannot cling to life on earth,
one day we must let go
and at that time I will rely
on Him I really know.
